If you can hold on to the crown it's definitely a big help for the harder levels. You get daily prizes and even if you miss a day (or 8 like I do) you pick up on the number you left off, it doesn't start you back at day 1. There are plenty of chances to get helping items, such as collecting stars, keys and leveling up..
