Chess stands as one of the most ancient strategic games known to humanity. It’s a remarkable board game of logic, fostering skills in tactics, strategy, and visual memory. I’m currently developing an application that aims to offer an enjoyable chess experience for players of all levels.

Pieces in Chess:

• The pawn advances one square forward or two squares on its initial move and captures diagonally one square forward.
• The king moves one square in any direction: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
• The queen maneuvers any distance vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
• The rook traverses any distance vertically or horizontally.
• The knight jumps either two squares vertically and one horizontally, or two squares horizontally and one vertically.
• The bishop moves any distance diagonally.

Key Chess Scenarios:

• Check: When a king is directly threatened by opposing pieces.
• Checkmate: Occurs when the player in turn is in check and has no legal move to evade it.
• Stalemate: Happens when the player in turn has no legal move and is not in check, resulting in a draw.

The objective of Chess is to achieve checkmate against the opponent’s king.

Special Chess Moves:

• Castling involves a unique double move, executed by the king and a rook that hasn’t moved previously.
• En passant permits a pawn to capture an opponent’s pawn if it moves two squares forward from its starting position.
